Women's Football In The Western Region Has A Poor Future - Basigi

Technical Director and head coach of Hasaacas Ladies Yusif Basigi has predicted that women’s football in the Western Region has a poor future.

Despite the region boasting of Ghana’s most successful female team and providing numerous players for the various national teams, Yusif Basigi has said that the region stands a bigger chance of losing out it’s pride as one of the best in women’s football.

The former Black Queen’s trainer said this in an interview with Western Region Sports Broadcasters Association.

“Women’s football in the region has a poor future, we used to get talent from various secondary schools directly to the region but the case is different now.

“Ashanti Region, Central Region and the Greater Accra Region are now the hub for female footballers leaving Secondary school”

“Lower clubs within the region have failed in developing players because of less passion” Yusif Basigi said in a zoom conference with Western Region Sports Broadcasters Association (WERSBA)
