Black Stars general captain Asamoah Gyan has singled out the year 2010 as his best year in his football career since turning professional.
According to Gyan, Ghana’s presence together with his performance at the World Cup in South Africa changed his life leading him to several deals and awards.
In an exclusive interview with TV3, The former Premier League star said:
“The year 2010 was my best year in my career and everything I did was working. I came to music and won so many awards, businesses were working, I had so many contracts and individual awards.”
“I became an icon and everybody saw me in the whole world. In the tournament in 2010, I became the third-best player. I was on top of the world and was living the life I would never forget.”
Gyan remains the all-time leading goalscorer of the Ghana national team, with 51 goals. He represented Ghana at 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. With 6 goals, he is the top African goalscorer in the history of the World Cup.
