Ex-Hearts of Oak star Yaw Amankwah Mireku has urged his former club to fulfill their promise by paying $25,000 to the 2000 CAF Champions League winning team.
Hearts made history when they beat Espérance de Tunis in 2000 to win the CAF Champions League after failing twice in 1977 and 1979.
According to Mireku who was part of that winning team, they are yet to receive a pesewa after that glorious moment.
“If they pay or not life goes on, it’s very sad sometimes but that doesn’t mean we wish the team (Hearts of Oak) hell.
“We have mobilized ourselves in forming a group in reaching out to the supporters to help the team. This is a club that has attained success so I think this is the time to come together and grow the club.”
Hearts Of Oak are without a major silverware since 2009 and will be hoping to get hands-on one when football return.
