Asante Kotoko management cries out for help from supporters

Nana Kwame Dankwa who is a management member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has called out to the faithful supporters of the club to assist them in settling the fine that has been imposed on them by FIFA.

The Porcupine Warriors have been asked by the world football’s governing body (FIFA) to cough up an amount of $240,000 to compensate Esperance after they were found guilty of transfer breaches.

Kotoko in 2015 signed Emmanuel Clottey from Tunisian side Esperance while the striker’s contract with the Tunisian club had not expired.

The reds have been given an ultimatum by FIFA to settle the fine, and failure to adhere to the directives will result in the great club being relegated to the lower leagues.

Nana Kwame Dankwa acknowledges that the club is in a bit of a predicament and has called out to loyal followers of the club to help raise the required amount to avoid such sanctions.

“I believe that as a Kotoko family which entails management and the supporters, we need to make sure that we support our leader Kwame Kyei, so that we can find a solution to this problem”

“Let’s come together so that we find solutions on how are we going to pay this money”

Its happened before, during Herbert Mensah’s time when Kotoko wrongfully dismissed Hans Dieter Schmidt, we were slapped with a huge fine”.

“Dr Sarpong was able to do an appeal for funds to raise money which was eventually topped up by management to clear the debt”.

“So I will urge all of us to come together to help clear this current debt.”He continued

Nana Kwame Dankwa insisted that this experience will serve as a lesson to the club in future transactions.

There are issues but I feel its not necessary at this point. Now is not the time to do interrogations and blame games”, he noted.

“Lets focus on clearing the debt first. And when all is sorted we will learn the valuable lessons and avoid similar happenings in the future” he concluded.
