Ghana football Legend Osei Kofi has issued a warning to Ghanaians that the country’s desire to bring an end to the 38 year wait for an AFCON trophy will not be fulfilled unless Sammy Kuffour is held accountable for his actions.
Mohammed Polo just recently slammed Sammy Kuffor and Anthony Baffoe and even called them a ‘joke’ for seemingly disrespecting his playing colleagues.
Osei Kofi seems to be in total agreement with Polo after making a comment suggesting that the former Bayern Munich defender won nothing for the Black Stars which is quite reminiscent of the former Accra Hearts Oak gaffer’s earlier remarks.
Osei Kofi has requested the authorities to resolve the issues between Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and the Retired Players Association.
The recent criticism the PFAG has received stem from Sammy Kuffour’s decision to deny the retired players participation in the recent GFA elections.
He said, “Osei Kuffour cannot compare to us in any way. Afterall the four cups (AFCON titles) that Ghana has won, we have won some, how many has he won”
“What he did is very bad and disrespectful. The Bible even tells us to honour your father and mother so your days may be prolonged on earth and it shall be well with you”
“Off late, we have several young men dying and you see posters telling a story of what a shock, gone too soon, they should be mindful of how they talk. Its not everyone that you show disrespect towards”
“With what they’ve done, the authorities should look into it and settle things or else Ghana’s 38 years wait for an AFCON trophy will be prolonged” he warned.
